Who We Are
Over the past 34 years, Ozanam has worked to aid some of the most vulnerable within the Evansville area, the families and women experiencing homelessness. We continue to focus on changing the cycle of poverty through education, collective community engagement, and support of our residents. Residents are provided a clean room, three hot meals and two snacks daily, as well as free laundry facilities and detergent, personal care products, healthcare, housing, school, daycare and work referrals, life skills classes and case management during their stay. We have 18 family rooms at our Read Street location. Each year we serve an average of 400 individuals seeking temporary shelter. We are keeping families together in their time of need and helping them make positive changes in their lives. Additionally, Ozanam is the only shelter in Evansville that allows single dads or couples with children to be in a shelter together.
