Who We Are

ECHO Housing and Community Development has a mission to improve lives by reducing barriers to housing, social wellbeing, and economic opportunity. Our vision is a community where housing, social wellbeing and economic opportunities are accessible to all, fostering a thriving and compassionate society where every person can reach their full potential. In the 70's and 80's the Evansville Coalition for the Homeless started with some concerned and compassionate individuals and organizations. In the late 80's/early 90's they began to split into 3 separate entities: Street Outreach (Aurora), Housing (ECHO Housing), and Health (ECHO Health). ECHO Housing was established in 1991 and became it's own 501c3 in 1993. Since that time we have grown into 8 different homeless service programs as well as a community development corporation.

What We Do

ECHO Housing and Community Development is the leading provider of homeless services, including permanent supportive housing, for individuals experiencing homelessness in the community. ECHO has continued to grow, now encompassing eight homeless service programs, all dedicated to serving those experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
