Who We Are
Jacob's Village was established in 1996 with the vision of providing adults with functional disabilities an opportunity to experience independent living in a supportive and comfortable environment, outside of institutions and health care centers, and also in support of families asking the difficult question, "What will happen to my child when I a gone?"
This universal concern of parents with special-needs children is understood first-hand by the family of Andrew Guagenti, who founded Jacob's Village. The Guagenti's grandson, Jacob, has Down's Syndrome and was the inspiration for Jacob's Village.
Our one or two bedroom senior living apartments are the newest addition to the Jacob's Village community. Adults, age 55+, or adults with disabilities, enjoy independent community living and have the option of staff support if needed or desired.
What We Do
Since opening in 2004, Jacob’s Village has developed a network of relationships with disability service providers, area councils on aging, local congregations and other organizations that serve people with disabilities and senior adults.
These relationships allow us to offer access to a full spectrum of programs and support services in which residents can participate. Program areas include: Live and Learn, Health and Fitness, Spiritual Life, Recreation and Volunteerism.
So here at Jacob’s Village, residents can choose to participate not only in fun activities, but also those that promote life-long education, help maintain a healthy lifestyle, and encourage personal and community responsibility.
