Who We Are
Ark Crisis Children's Center is the only free, crisis center in Indiana, serving children 1-6 years old. Ark is open Monday-Friday, year-round.
When children are in crisis, when families are struggling, when children are in danger of abuse or neglect, Ark can help.
Established in 1981, Ark has helped thousands of children over the years and provides support to many other organizations when their clients need a safe childcare option.
Life is hard, Ark understands and wants to help.
What We Do
Ark Crisis Children's Center provides free childcare to young children when families are in crisis. Ark cares for children when:
- Parents or caregivers need to work but have no safe, affordable childcare options
- Parents are seeking employment and need safe, affordable childcare
- Parents attend counseling, rehab, medical appointments or court dates
- Parents attend school or job skills training
- Foster families need assistance
- Grandparents or other family members are caring for young children and need help
- Parents or caregivers need a "break"
- Any other reason that could potentially put children at risk of abuse or neglect
Ark provides nutritious meals, education, diapers, wipes, and other necessities. Ark operates a clothing bank, provides free car seats, and assists families at Christmas with gifts for children.
