Description The Salvation Army's mission is to meet human needs in the name of Jesus without discrimination. This mission takes shape in the form of housing assistance, utility bill assistance, meal programming, and grocery assistance available year-round here in Vanderburgh, Warrick, and Posey counties. A large portion of the funding for these programs comes from the annual Red Kettle Campaign, every Nov-Dec. This campaign requires a large amount of equipment, time, effort, and volunteers to be successful. To prepare for the upcoming 2025 Red Kettle Campaign we need to retrieve the equipment from storage, inventory, clean, repair, and store. Tasks for the project will include the following:
-Retrieving
kettle stands, bases, buckets, signs, and other associated items from
storage and arranging in the gymnasium for the next steps
-Cleaning stand poles, base plates, signs, and buckets(Inside and out)
-Repairing bent/broken signs using hand tools (Bending and shaping metal)Inventory number of usable stand poles, base plates, signs, and buckets
-Identify equipment needing repairs and set aside.Placement of new vinyl sign wraps for the upcoming season on signs
-Prepare all equipment for transport and storage.
Volunteers should expect heavy lifting, using hand tools, and working with metal items and materials. In addition, volunteers should plan to park across the street in the Dollar General parking lot due to the limited number of spaces at The Salvation Army
