The Salvation Army's mission is to meet human needs in the name of Jesus without discrimination. Critical to this mission is for families and individuals to feel welcome when visiting The Salvation Army for programming and services. After a short-term lapse in maintenance staffing, our building's exterior has fallen behind and become overgrown. This works against a welcoming atmosphere and one we wanted to correct with this opportunity of community help. Tasks will focus on the north and eastern faces toward Fulton Ave and Missouri St.
Tasks for the project include:
- Removing weeds and trimming overgrown bushes/plants
- Laying new weed barrier
- Planting new flowers/plants (If any) (we will humbly take donated flowers)
- Mulch (donated if possible)
Volunteers are welcome and encouraged to bring tools if they would like, but we plan on sourcing and providing for all volunteers.
